Use plenty of water: Watercolor paints are thin and transparent, so it's important to use plenty of water to dilute the paint and make it easier to work with.

I made this fun winter watercolor painting with Arctic animal silhouette with free printable . You can grab a free printable template with arctic animals( Arctic fox, Polar Bear and Penguin). This watercolor painting technique is a little different from the conventional, it's super easy and fun! Let's check how did I made this Polar Bear Silhouette watercolor painting for preschool and kindergarten kids. 


Supplies Needed:

  • plastic sheet (ziplock)
  • Blue and Black Acrylic paint
  • Free printable (Link Below)
  • water
  • spray bottle
  • flat brush
  • cardstock paper
  • cotton
  • glue
  • scissors

How to make winter watercolor art with Free Printable:

  • Take any plastic or cling wrap or foil or ziplock or wax paper. All these work well!
  • spray water generously on the plastic sheet using a spray bottle
  • squeeze a drop of blue paint on water 
  • using a flat brush smudge the paint all over the plastic
  • spray more water if needed to give it more flowy texture
  • take a cardstock paper and press it over the blue watery print
  • dab it evenly from all sides to imprint the paint over it
  • pull it up and you can sprinkle salt for more added textures
  • let it dry overnight
  • use my free printable arctic animal template and cut it out
  • choose the animal you want to use
  • now you can either trace it on a black construction paper or paint it black or use my silhouette format
  • I painted them black and put them to dry
  • take the dried up cardstock paper
  • using glue dab cotton over the bottom of the page to look like snow
  • stick the dried Polar bear silhouette in the center of the sheet
  • your winter Polar Bear Silhouette watercolor painting  is ready to display!
